According to the Census Bureau in 2007, over 30% of the nation’s population is classified as special needs and elderly while the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has declared “substantial improvement is necessary to integrate people with disabilities in emergency planning and readiness.” As seen from Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Ike in 2008, government and public safety agencies local, state, and federal are still struggling with this integration. We created a program to bridge this gap by increasing the emergency readiness of these agencies with the special needs and elderly population before, during, and after emergencies and disasters.

The Special Needs Assistance Program EVERYWHERE (SNAPevTM) is the first national online registry that stores and maps basic medical and personal information related to the special needs and elderly population that gives government and public safety agencies around the clock access to the information before, during, and after an emergency or disaster.

This program is VOLUNTARY and FREE for individuals to register and government agencies to sign up. Businesses such as assisted living communities, nursing homes, group homes, etc can communicate their residents' status by registering as well. The data is totally secured and encrypted with current security methods. Features that come with the application are:

•  Registration by Phone – A toll free number for registering individuals.
• Personal Update Notification - A monthly reminder to update your     information by phone, text message, or email.
• TXT-Alert Program – An emergency alert system used by sending text     messages to cell phones of registrants and emergency contacts.
•  Check-Up Program (Optional) – A monitoring program for calling selected     individuals daily or weekly for an additional $12 a month.
•  Local Education Campaign – We work in the community indefinitely to get     individuals to register.
• Online GIS Mapping - Allows for viewing of data and functions such as:     edit, upload, delete, and selection of registrants for notification, graphs     & charts, and symbol changes.
•  Custom Analysis Reports – These are statistical reports designed by each     client.
